CID or Chlorine Intolerance Disorder effects thousands of people in the UK. Problems such as eczema, asthma and other skin complaints can arise from chlorine sensitivity. Many people find that they develop problems when moving from one country to another or even one region to another, this is due to the different types of water treatment used by the main water supplier. CID is now recognised as a condition that can be treated in a variety of ways.
The founder of Aquatiere, Graham Brebner, established the term CID during his time developing various products in the 1990’s which specifically helped children and young adults with the demanding problems caused by allergic reactions to water, bedding, carpets and other items constantly used within the home.
CID is treatable. The symptoms can be acute but over time a sensible approach to using correct water filtration, non-allergic bedding, special vacuum cleaners and a variety of other simple methods can change the lives of many sufferers.
To find out more about CID and the possible solutions email Graham Brebner at his personal email address graham.brebner@virgin.net requesting more information and he will get back to you. All emails are of course treated with the strictest confidence.

It is supposed that removal of flouride from water is a tricky business. Most filters use active alumina to remove flouride - unfortunately there is a drawback in as much as the filter bed needs to be large and the flow rate very slow. Until now whole house filtration was considered impossible as active alumina is to slow and reverse osmosis units (which do remove flouride) are impractical.
The garden home water filter contains CERAMET which has very similar attributes to active alumina. It has a very large surface area and contains calcium and alumina, both of which are extremely good at flouride removal. The filter bed in the Home and Garden filter has an immense surface area and under normal flow conditions will remove 85% of flouride from the water.
People in Southampton, the first place in the UK to have flouride put into their water, are very worried about the effects this substance will have on their well being. It is also considered that flouride can have an adverse effect on plants.
If your are interested in a Home and Garden Filter to remove flouride or wish to add to our Floride Blog please visit www.aquatiere.co.uk or call 01590 678586

In response to legislation banning the discharge of typical water conditioners in parts of Europe AQUATIERE developed an innovative new technology to address the difficulties associated with hard water. The Super Water Filter system containing CERAMET anti-scaling media was originally designed to prevent scale formation in industrial hot water systems. The CERAMET media has wildly exceeded initial expectations. The Super Water filters do prevent scaling associated with hard water temperature increase. Beyond that it will de-scale effected areas thus increasing energy efficiency of hot water systems and hot-water using appliances. Also the de-scaling attributes of the CERAMET media will re-establish diminished water flow rates and pressure. A further attribute is a 30 micron “ceramic” layer will coat the inner pipe walls providing corrosion protection.
This proven approach has undergone years of intense scrutiny and study. The process involves having hard water flow through the CERAMET media in an up-flow direction. Instantly the calcium and magnesium ions transform from dissolved ions into precipitated nano crystals. These tiny crystals stay suspended in the water regardless of change in water temperature.
The added benefits of CERAMET granular ceramic media are very similar to that of traditional ion-exchange water softening. The ability of soap to lather is greatly enhanced because the calcium and magnesium are now present as nano-crystals and are no longer ionic. This means the hardness cations can not react with the soap anions to create curd. Glassware appearance will improve dramatically as will laundry. This process of not removing the hardness but rendering it harmless is environmentally friendly. These hard mineral nano-crystals are good for your health as magnesium and calcium are important to the human diet. The alternative approach to water softening requires that sodium is exchanged for the hardness content.
A typical household system has a cartridge type pre-filter followed by the Super Water whole house Filter. The CERAMET media is housed in a stainless steel tube capable of withstanding 8 BAR pressure. A household with up to three bathrooms would use our 60 litre per minute version. The water travels in an up-flow direction and does not require periodic backwash. Thus there is no backwash water waste and an electric timer valve is not needed. Every two years the CERAMET media should be replaced to replenish the media lost due to attrition, this is achieved by recycling the whole unit at minimal cost.
The timing of this technology is ideal. The system virtually sustains itself. This ecologically friendly approach preserves our environment and personal wellbieng
· increased hot water efficiency and flow rates
· does not require sodium chloride which is unhealthy and harmful to the environment
· does not require potassium chloride which is expensive
· can treat water with 100 grains hardness
· does not require brine discharge
· does not require a timer or power
